Brad T. Harders killed after being sawed in half in Lockport IL lumber yard accident - Co-workers claim he isn't even half the man he use to be

A 38-year-old man died in an “industrial sawing mishap” Monday afternoon in southwest suburban Lockport.

Brad T. Harders, of Genoa, was severed in two at a lumber business in the 14000 block of Archer Avenue in Lockport, according to the Will County coroner’s office.

Harders was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where he was pronounced dead at 2:01 p.m., the coroner’s office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

Lockport police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident, the coroner’s office said, but additional details were not immediately available early Tuesday.
