BOSTON —A Boston police officer was rushed to a local hospital after being shot in the leg in the city's Dorchester neighborhood Friday morning, 5 Investigates reported.
The shooting happened at about 10:15 a.m. at 1 Mount Bowdoin Terrace near Eldon Street, sources tell 5 Investigates.
5 Investigates has learned that the male officer was shot in the leg and is expected to recover.
A WCVB photographer at the scene said the officer was conscious and talking after the shooting.
The officer was transported to Boston Medical Center. Boston Police Commissioner William Evans was en route to the hospital.
No other details were immediately available.
