DETROIT - A 15-year-old boy was arrested Monday after he got locked inside a bank he had just robbed, Detroit police said.
The teen targeted the Chase Bank branch on West Seven Mile Road near Greenfield Road by passing the teller a note that threatened to use a bomb if he wasn't given money, police said.
The teller complied, but also activated the bank's automatic door locks, which held the teen until police arrived.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
Prosecutors adjourned Tuesday to decide if they will charge this teen as an adult. If he is convicted as an adult he could face life in prison.
Police are asking for anyone with information on the robbery to call criminal investigations at 313-596-5840.
