At about 9:40 p.m. Friday, a 31-year-old man was killed in Englewood, said Chicago Police spokeswoman Officer Amina Greer.
He was in a parked car in the 6100 block of South Sangamon Street when a sedan pulled up and someone inside fired shots. He was hit multiple times and went to to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
At 6:30 a.m. Saturday, a female whose age was not immediately available was shot in South Austin, said Chicago Police spokesman Officer Janel Sedevic.
She was in the 300 block of South Cicero Avenue when she was shot in the back. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and her condition was stabilized. No information was immediately available about the circumstances of the shooting; police said she was being uncooperative with investigators.
